Chapel Annexe
Chapel Annexe
JRA Fire Safety Advisors were appointed by Bartley Management to undertake a comprehensive fire stopping and compartmentation survey at Chapel Annexe, a multi-storey purpose-built residential block. The instruction was to provide a clear and accurate assessment of the building’s passive fire protection arrangements and to support the effective management of fire safety within a premises operating a compartmentation-based evacuation strategy.
The survey carried out by JRA Fire Safety Advisors involved a detailed, systematic inspection of communal areas throughout the building, supported by intrusive sampling where appropriate to verify construction details and fire-resisting elements. The assessment considered fire-resisting walls and floors, service penetrations, risers, cupboards, and heads of walls, with the aim of establishing how compartment lines were formed and maintained across the building.
Findings were recorded in a structured and highly detailed report, supported by annotated plans and photographic evidence, enabling Bartley Management to clearly understand the condition and performance of passive fire protection across the premises. JRA Fire Safety Advisors provided clear, prioritised, and technically robust recommendations to support ongoing compliance, future remedial planning, and engagement with competent contractors.
This project demonstrates JRA Fire Safety Advisors’ expertise in delivering large-scale fire stopping and compartmentation surveys within residential environments, translating complex site conditions into clear, actionable information that supports life safety, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset management.
